  • Rev. Jonathan Mccleery - senior pastor

    Despite over 30 years of service as an ordained clergy, Pastor Jon still has amazing passion for ministry. He finds his greatest joy in being a channel through which God's awesome grace may flow. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio and raised in Austintown and Salem. He holds a BA from Kent State University and a MDiv from Asbury Theological Seminary. His interests include music, sports and history, and can often be seen on local stages as an actor.

  • Cindy Gulley - director of youth ministries

                                 & communications

    Job Description: I plan and coordinate Confirmation, Youth and High School Graduate programming and events.  I also get the Word about our church out to our congregation and surrounding community


    Favorite part of your job: I just love, love, love my job.  It just feels right. Each Sunday I look at our congregation and think...what can I do for them next? They are a special group.


    Why did you choose to work at a church? I feel closer to God by working for our church and closer to those in the congregation.  I feel His presence more when caring for our church and nurturing the spirits of our children.


    Fun, interesting facts about myself: I used to make make-up! I worked a New Product Development at Bonne Bell Cosmetics for several years.  I love glitter!  And I also have certifications in Personal Training, Health Coaching, and Group Fitness.

  • Leigh ann spratt - Director of children's ministries

    Job Description: I plan and coordinate Sunday School, programming and events for children ages birth through sixth grade and their families.


    Favorite part of your job: I love working with children and it is a gift to be able to have a job sharing God’s love with them in my own home church.


    Why did you choose to work at a church? I am a licensed teacher and planning lessons for kids of all ages brings me great joy! Working at the church brings me closer to God, my own family, and my church family.


    Fun, interesting facts about myself: I love to crochet and make toys out of yarn.

  • Jennifer sauer - finance director

    Job description: My position consists primarily of general bookkeeping/accounting responsibilities.  I assist the Finance Chairperson in preparing both the Annual Charge/Church Conference Report for the East Ohio Conference and the Local Church Report to the Annual Conference. In addition to serving as a member of the Finance Committee, I maintain the schedule for our counting teams and answer church member/donor inquiries regarding pledges and quarterly statements.


    Favorite part of job: I have the opportunity of a bird’s eye view of God working in our church, particularly observing the loyal ministry of generous, faith-filled givers.


    Why did you choose to work at a church? That’s easy! It is a joy and privilege to serve in my second home for my church family of over 30 years. Additionally, this position is a natural fit for me, allowing flexibility during this phase of my life for enjoying the blessings of grandchildren and an aging parent. Any other fun interesting facts about you:


    Fun, interesting facts about myself? That’s a tough one! I’m probably the most boring person I know, however, I remain grateful for a joy-filled life which includes dear friends, my wonderful husband, our four children, and six precious grandchildren. (Oh, I did sing with the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus for 12 seasons!)

  • ron muth - director of music

    Ronald H Muth is in his 41st year as Director of Music at Bay United Methodist Church.Previously to this position, he was the Bass Soloist at Rocky River UMC for 10 years. He has always enjoyed making a joyful noise unto the Lord. His duties at Bay include directing the Chancel Choir,Bell Choir, and organizing the special music for all summer Sundays.Mr Muth has 2 grown children , 6 wonderful grandchildren, and has just retired from 47 years as a high school choir director.He spends his summers in Marblehead, where he enjoys fishing and boating.
