youth and Young adult ministries

  • youth group

Our youth are a vibrant part of our community.  They currently meet twice monthly to discuss and learn about Christianity and how it applies to their their age.  With the mentorship of highly-qualified teachers, they navigate topics that are relevant to what is happening in their life.

It will be a new, exciting year for our youth! They will customize THEIR youth group and transform it for then next generation of youth coming up through our church.  It is an opportunity that rarely comes along.  We will rename our group and lay a foundation that will draw new friends, enhance their lives and provide meaningful, faith-filled fun.  So, keep coming back to this page for new information about our youth.  It will be full of surprises.

  • Appalachian service project

ASP (Appalachian Service Project) is a life-changing service experience for youth, college students and adults that inspires hope and service through volunteer home repair in Central Appalachia. Each summer, BUMC sends a team of new and experienced volunteers. And each summer they return transformed.

ASP is an opportunity led by Adult Volunteers with the assistance of BUMC Youth Ministries.

college-age & Young adult ministries

Connection is an important value at Bay United Methodist Church.  When our youth graduate, they may leave our congregation physically, for a time, but they do not leave our hearts.  Keeping them close through care packages, holiday and summer get-together, friendly emails and notes are only some of the ways we keep touch.  We offer scholarship opportunities and mentor connection if they wish to apply.

For our young adults that have graduated and have decided to stay here at Bay, we offer BUMALUM, a connectional group or recent and somewhat recent HS school graduates from our youth group. This is a group of young adults that wish to stay connected to their church. They can stay in this group as long as they wish.

By offering our college-aged youth and young adult specialized ministries, they will continue to keep Jesus close to their hearts and guide them as they navigate the new world ahead of them.
