The Drama Team is a youth group that works throughout the school year with adult supervision to create an annual production. The show is then performed at our church on a Saturday evening in the Spring as part of an ASP fundraising event which includes dinner. In the past we have also taken the production on the road to share our ministry at various other United Methodist venues.
Grey Eagles are (primarily) senior men who have organized to provide fellowship opportunities which strengthen their connections to the church. Our last retreat was held September 24-26, 2010, at The Island House in Port Clinton, Ohio. For more information on this group, please contact the church office.
Bay UMC is a praying congregation. We seek God's will through prayers to assist those in need and give thanks for our life's blessings. Each week we provide a list of church members, family, friends, or community members that would benefit from our prayers. This list is provided via email to our membership and is printed in our Sunday Bulletin. To add a prayer request, simply call the church office or email the pastor.
"We are the Church Together."-- Stephen Ministry is something we will do with and for one another as a congregation, to care for each other, strengthen the bonds between us and reach out to members who may fall through the cracks or who may not be getting the attention they need. Stephen Ministry can be the glue that helps us "stick together" as a congregations and is a program of Lay Caregiving, in which caregivers are paired one-on-one with persons experiencing crisis or transition. Stephen Ministry trains lay persons to provide emotional and spiritual care for persons in the church who need and want the the support.
If you are going through a crisis or tough time, please contact Rev. Bill Buckeye by email - revbill _ bumc@sbcglobal.net
Bay United Methodist Women (UMW) is a multi-generational group that meets once a month at the church. Their mission is to develop a creative, supportive fellowship which allows each woman to know God and experience the joys of living a Christ-centered life. Through various fund-raising activities held throughout the year, the UMW finance their missions to help locally and globally through their generous donations. Typically these activities include the Soup Supper, Nearly New Sale, and Cookie sales.
At this time there are three "circles" of women that meet regularly. Our "Sarah Ruth" circle meets on the third Wednesday in the morning and is primarily composed of retired women. Each summer for a week the church transforms into an active learning cetner for children of Bay UMC and the community. The theme varies from year to year, and offers worship with music, crafts, Bible stories, snacks and games. Youth and adults are encouraged to share their talens as crew leaders or teachers. This week is a wonderful way for a child to experience God's Word with every one of his or her senses. For more information about Vacation Bible School, please click on the link to the left.
Each Fall on "Rally Day!" the Church Wellness Committee offers flu shots. They also offer blood pressure checks at various times throughout the year.
In addition, the committee is here to assist you with answers to many of your health-related questions. Should you find yourself in need of health-related information, please contact Rev. Bill Buckeye at revbill_bumc@sbcglobal.net. He will assist you in finding the right person to answer your questions.
