At Bay United Methodist Church (Bay UMC) a number of programs are available for adults to participate in, from Study Groups to United Methodist Women / Gray Eagles Men's Groups, or our Over 50's Retreat. Each program offers you a chance to discuss and develop your relationship with God in an inviting and open atmosphere.

Adult Studies

The Adult Studies mission of Bay United Methodist Church is to enhance the understanding and growth of our members in the areas of faith exploration, current events, self-discovery and Bible study. As Christian adults we need to acquire our "continuing education units" so as to continue our spiritual growth and understandingl The Adult Studies Mission is devoted to providing a variety of such growth experiences and we want to provide something of relevance to all church members.

Over 50 Retreat

Every year or two we get together off-site to offer our members and guests over 50 years old an opportunity to fellowship with other members and enrich their relationship with God. Last year's retreat was held September 24-26 at The Island House Inn in Port Clinton, OH. For more information on this group, please contact the church office.

United Methodist Women

Bay United Methodist Women (UMW) is a multi-generational group that meets once a month at the church. Their mission is to develop a creative, supportive fellowship which allows each woman to know God and experience the joys of living a Christ-centered life. Through various fund-raising activities held throughout the year, the UMW finance their missions to help locally and globally through their generous donations. Typically these activities include the Soup Supper, Near New Sale, and Cookie sales.

At this time there are three "circles" of women that meet regularly. Our "Sarah Ruth" circle meets on the third Wednesday in the morning and is primarily composed of retired women. Our "Lydia" circle meets in the evening and is primarily for working women. The "Circle of Hope" meets on Sunday evenings. more information on this group, please click on the link to the left.

Gray Eagles

Gray Eagles are (primarily) senior men who have organized to provide fellowship opportunities which strengthen their connections to the church. The group typically meets monthly and offers programs on topics related to our community, social issues, or other programs that meet the needs and interests of the group. In addition, the men maintain contact and assist senior men who are ill or disabled, and provide assistance to the church by their prayers, attendance, gifts, and more.

8:30 a.m. SUNDAY Adult Study Session

This study session has been, and will continue to be, oriented toward the goal of faith development. Our current DVD study is a series of 8 sermons given by Rev. Adam Hamilton entitled "Christianity's Family Tree," each one discussing a different branch or denomination of Christianity. These DVDs are visually rich and intellectually stimulating. Come and join us for what promises to be an interesting series of studies.

We will NOT meet on New Year's Day. On January 8, 15, and 22, we will finish the last three chapters from Adam Hamilton's series, where we will learn more about Baptists, Pentecostals, and Methodism.
